Beginning Backyard Chicken Keeping

Join Certified Veteran Master Gardener and poulterer Barb Harmon in the Sno-Isle Food Co-op classroom, as she shows you how to start your own backyard flock. This class will cover everything a beginner needs to know to get started and include some new tips and tricks for seasoned poultrymen.

Barb Harmon

Barb was awarded Master Gardener from the Washington State University Master Gardener program in 2019 and is a Certified Veteran Master Gardener. She has lifelong gardening experience specific to this region & micro-climate. Barb teaches classes for the Washington State University agriculture extension office, volunteers in gardens all over the region, and still maintains her own edible garden. Barb also teaches classes on other resilience skills such as food preservation, baking, and chicken husbandry.
