The largest community garden in Snohomish County opens May 1st, 2017 at Eagle Ridge Park. Located at 2424 Soper Hill Rd, Lake Stevens, WA 98258 this 12,200 sq ft community garden will offer 79 beds to lease for $40 per year through the City of Lake Stevens Parks and Recreation Department.
Several beds will be reserved to grow organic produce for the Lake Stevens Food Bank and to offer resources to the Lake Stevens Family Center as well as Veterans and Senior Services. Seeds and starts have been provided by Lake Stevens Ace Hardware, with funding by Home Depot in Snohomish and the City of Lake Stevens.
Phase 1 construction has begun. The initial phase will include the leveling of the property for the community garden as well as a refreshed driveway, gate, parking, fencing, pathways, shed for garden tools and the construction of the 79 beds. Phase 2 will include additional garden bed designs offering raised beds for added ADA accessibility.
