Terry Myer checks on her healthy kale plant in the backyard garden at her Lake Stevens area home on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Since moving in two years ago, Myer has built a garden using free recycled materials that now produces enough to feed her family, neighbors and provide the local food bank with 2,000 pounds of fresh produce. “This isn’t a charity experiment, this is something everyone can do,” Myer said.
